The Foods We Eat

OK, so I think I've pretty much got the exercise thing down.  It's motivating. a great stress reliever, and I truly enjoy the way I feel after doing it.  Now, I definitely need to focus on nutrition.  It doesn't matter how many classes I do or how long I stay on the elliptical...if I'm putting crap in, I'm not going to get the good results I'm looking for.

As one of my co-workers says, it's affordable to be fat in this day and age.  And it's so true.  Eating unhealthy food is way less expensive and time consuming that eating healthy food.  So, my biggest issue at this point is going to be getting the healthy food in as much as possible.

But, let's face it.  Cupcakes and freakin' big fat juicy hamburgers with bacon taste good...and who doesn't want a cookie or a cupcake or a giant bag of chips from time to time.  I think it's also going to be a matter of retraining my brain to want to eat the good stuff.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good salad, and I need to make that type of healthy eating a priority.  Portion sizes are also going to be a good starting point.

*sigh*  I seriously feel a little depressed at the thought, but that's where my thinking has to change.

  1. Totally agree...I *know how* to prepare lower-calorie, healthy meals, but it's a lot more trouble and time consuming. What worked for me in the past is getting thru the first couple of weeks and seeing the weight drop off. Once you see the results, it makes it so much easier to keep going! I sure would like to know where all that motivation went, cuz I can't find it!!

  2. It's true. No matter how much you exercise if you don't have proper nutrition you will not lose weight. I agree that that sucks!! Also, it doesn't help when those around you have bad things piled up.. exactly how many trays of cupcakes is enough :) Oh!! and then there is the fact that YOU are a phenomenal baker!

But eating healthy is way more than a good salad. It is sooo many different things. Good, yummy, fabulous foods!!!

I have no doubt the Awesome Autumn will motivate herself to make it work for her and then do even better by motivating those around her :)
